The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today passed the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Constitutional Amendment Bill.
A special one-day session was convened for passing the Bill. Law Minister of the state, Rampal Singh, moved the GST Constitution Amendment Bill in the house for passing.
Finance Minister Jayant Mallaiya, who kicked off the debate, said the state would benefit from GST considering MP is a consumer state. He further said that the GST will simplify the tax structure across the country and bring transparency in the tax system.
